Information about Georgia

I have a doctorate in US literature and I have been teaching English to primary through to A level/IB pupils for over four years. I also help undergraduates and postgraduates with their studies. I taught English literature and language at Eastbourne College to pupils in Years 9, 10, 11, and 12 from September 2018 to September 2019.

I studied the IB at school and attained 42 points, with a 7 in English and full marks in my Extended Essay on "Wuthering Heights" and "Frankenstein".

At the University of York I studied "English and Related Literature" and attained a 1st. Afterwards, I went on to study "Contemporary Literature, Culture, & Theory" at King`s College London.

I have a keen passion for teaching and instilling in others my enthusiasm for literature.

Availability: I am available Monday to Friday to tutor online and in person.

Willing to travel: 12 miles

Experience: I was an English teacher, teaching English Language and Literature to Years 9, 10, 11, and 12 at Eastbourne College.

I was a PhD tutor for the Brilliant Club. For the club I design my own modules for Year 10 to 11 pupils on my PhD subject. The objective is to broaden their literary horizons and improve their essay writing.

Georgia has been tutoring me in A-Level English Language for a few months now. She is absolutely brilliant. Every lesson is well organised and catered to what I need. Not only does she cover content, but also thoroughly goes through the exam technique required for an A*. She has really boosted my confidence in tackling the exams.
