I am a Chemistry graduate (First honours) of Durham University and am beginning my PhD studies in Cambridge. I have taught several GCSE and A-Level students in Maths, Chemistry and Physics and also for degree level Chemistry. My teaching style is dependent on the needs of the student in question as some require specific help with certain areas, some need confidence boosting and others just need confirmation of their own progress. Typically, I teach in a tutorial style where I probe the areas that a student finds challenging and help them find confidence in their own understanding of the subject. This enables them to independently solve problems and answer questions on their own in an exam. For those who need a supplement to their school teaching I try to ensure a good base understanding of all key areas - all of which are very familiar to me as I was studying them not that long ago myself. For those who want a challenge, I am more than happy to push and develop a student`s understanding of their subject. For those who want a confidence boost in their subject, I take great care to help a student find confidence in themselves and can provide help (from my own experience) with answering questions under the stress of an exam.

Experience: I have taught for the last 5 years with a wide range of students ranging from key stage 3 up to and including degree level chemistry. I have also tutored for Maths and Physics up to and including A level.
