I`ve spent almost 10 years teaching in a high performing secondary school teaching Classical Civilisation, History and EPQ. My passion is Classical Civilisation, having achieved a First Class BA and MA with Distinction from the University of Bristol in the subject. I am co-author of the current OCR GCSE and A Level Classical Civilisation specifications, which means I have an intimate understanding of these courses and can help my students achieve success with them. I am also co-author of textbooks for these qualifications, which means I am more than capable of bringing these subjects to life.

Experience: I have spent my teaching career thus far in a highly academically successful grammar school in South East London. I am Head of Department and have grown Classical Civilisation as a subject within the school from being a small niche subject to being one of the most popular option choices, working with hundreds of students per year.

I have been consistently rated “Highly Effective” in all areas of classroom practice in observations. My department, which takes students from across the ability range, achieves very strong results at A Level and GCSE. 84% of A Level students achieving A*-B over a three-year period, and 86% of GCSE students achieving A*-B/9-6 and 46% achieving A*-A/9-7 over a three-year period.

I am also a highly experienced EPQ supervisor and UCAS mentor/referee.
