I currently hold the position as an English teacher at a diverse inner- city London secondary school and coordinate the teaching for the English Literature A Level specification. I am a reflective and dynamic teacher, entirely committed to improving the outcomes of my students. My teaching is consistently been judged ‘outstanding’ at my current school and I continually strive to refine my classroom practice to ensure that pupils’ learning is meaningful. I was observed twice during a recent OFSTED inspection in my Year 9 and 12 classes. The inspectors’ feedback highlighted that my pupils’ pride in their work ‘sings from the pages of their exercise books’ and they particularly commended the quality of my subject knowledge.

With the objective of improving the quality of my teaching, I became an English Literature Examiner for AQA in 2017. This has made me fluent in the assessment objectives of the exam board. Hence, I can confidently standardise pupils’ exams and make accurate grade predictions.
