Information about Melanie
French has been a part of my life since the time of my first ever visit to France at the age of six. Since then I have developed a huge love of languages and greatly appreciate the enrichment that learning and speaking other languages can bring to our lives. This has led me, as an adult, to add Spanish to my repertoire.
In my spare time I am very busy with a variety of hobbies and interests: the Arts - theatre, musicals and concerts of a range of musical genres; the Outdoors - hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering and skiing; at home - cooking, reading, going to the gym.
Availability: Mondays, Tuesdays - day or evening.
Willing to travel: 12 miles
Experience: I have been teaching French and Spanish, to students of all abilities, years 7 to 11, for over 25 years.
The Modern Languages department of which I am a member is the most successful in the education authority. Students whom I teach consistently achieve at least their GCSE target grade, many achieve higher. My classroom teaching has consistently been judged as outstanding.
In order to keep my language proficiency up to date and vibrant I read modern French and Spanish novels and literature, and watch French films and television programmes.
Feedback For Melanie (1)
Melanie made my daughter feel very comfortable and helped her to fill gaps in her understanding. My daughter feels that the tuition helped to build her confidence and contributed to her eventual GCSE grade.
