I am an approachable and enthusiastic Mathematics alumnus from Imperial College London with over four years of tutoring experience.

I achieved straight A*s/As in my GCSEs and attained 97% in A Level Mathematics and 92% in Further Mathematics. I also enjoyed success in many Maths Challenges and competitions (Olympiads etc) at school. I believe that I can use my experience to help my tutees perform to the best of their abilities. I also have extensive knowledge of the 11+ selection process and the study techniques required for entry into the most competitive grammar and independent schools, having taken them myself and achieved highly in these exams.

Coming from a family with many educators on both sides __ my father is still a tutor specialising Maths and the Science __ I have witnessed first-hand teaching techniques that do and don`t work, and received feedback on how best to approach different types of learners.

I teach with the mindset that everyone has the potential to succeed and am dedicated to making sure that pupils fully understand the concepts being taught as a result of my patient approach to teaching.

I plan each and every lesson meticulously and prepare tailored material for each child to aid their learning as well as using external resources when necessary. For example, I make my own detailed mark schemes for 11+ past papers where the solutions are not available and provide explanations in worksheets. My homework is customised based on what the students understood in the previous lesson(s).

I am always accessible and happy to provide feedback on homework via the student`s preferred form of communication.

Most of all, I place great emphasis on linking concepts that they learnt together and avoid unnecessary rote memorisation as much as possible. This is important especially in the relatively new 9-1 specification where the questions are less predictable.

I am up to date with the curriculum and the new spec.

I also offer a free consultation with the trial lesson so you don`t waste time without being able to see whether I would be a good match as a tutor.

Availability: I am available on weekdays from early evenings (exc Fridays) and Sundays.

Experience: I have experience teaching my younger brother for almost the entirety of his academic life in various subjects ranging from Latin to Music, resulting in very high attainment (e.g. straight A*s; admission to study Maths at Imperial). I also have experience as a teaching assistant at a tutoring centre, in Kingston town centre for 3 months, teaching Mathematics and English to children ranging from ages 3 to 14. In total, I have more than four years of tutoring experience.

I also taught Year 9 Maths, A Level Maths, Further Maths and Python programming as a voluntary teaching assistant at St Paul`s Girls` School for a term as part of my degree. This involved me creating a 70-page revision pack for the Year 9 (LV) students, where I received highly positive feedback from both the pupils and teachers (~95% of ratings were `Outstanding`, the rest being `Excellent`).

I have experience tutoring Primary, KS3, 11+, 13+, GCSE and A Level students.

I have successfully helped children get into Latymer Upper (11+), Dulwich (13+), Alleyn`s (13+), Emanuel (13+) and Whitgift (13+). I have also, within the space of two months, improved my student`s Maths and Chemistry from achieving 60%s in tests to a 8 in GCSE Maths in her mocks. Another example is a student working in the bottom set moving up to the second set in Maths.
