Hi, I`m Emily. I graduated this summer from the University of Oxford with First-class Honours in English and French and a Distinction in spoken French. I was made a French scholar of The Queen`s College in my second year, and was awarded the College`s J.A. Scott prize for the highest degree in English or History in my year. Prior to Oxford, I studied for the International Baccalaureate, for which I was awarded 44/45 points. I am now living in North London studying the Graduate Diploma in Law, with a view to training as a barrister.
During my undergraduate degree, I spent my third year abroad in Paris interning in publishing and journalism. I am a Francophile, a fluent French speaker and lover of literature, cinema and theatre!
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: IB French (ab initio): I recently tutored a second-year IB student struggling with ab initio French. I assisted her in developing her oral skills and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, and was able to use my personal knowledge of the course structure and style of exam question in order to guide her through past papers.
English conversation classes for friends in Paris: During my year abroad I made a lot of French friends keen to improve their English. I helped them to hone their speaking skills by holding informal conversation classes.
Child-minding: I have over five years of child-minding experience which has involved helping primary and secondary school children with their homework in a variety of subjects.
