I am an active composer of contemporary music and I compose chamber, choral, and orchestral music, as well as opera.

I have a particular love for music theory and orchestration, and I truly enjoy helping others learn more about these subjects. I have 10+ years of teaching experience.

Alongside composing for commissions, I also work as a piano accompanist and French horn player for hire, as well as a freelance transcriber and music copyist.

My qualifications include:

- Doctor of Music (DMus/PhD) in composition, (expected 2024), Guildhall School of Music & Drama
- Master of Arts in Opera Making & Writing (MA), 2020, distinction, Guildhall School of Music & Drama
- Master of Music in Composition (MMus), 2015, distinction, South African College of Music
- Bachelor of Music in Composition (BMus), 2013, distinction, South African College of Music

Experience: I am a friendly and adaptable teacher, with 10+ years of experience teaching theory, composition, ear training, and piano studies at schools and privately.

My teaching approach is adaptable and flexible, depending on each individual student`s level and needs/goals. I help my students see the fun in musical complexity, snd enjoy inspiring a love for excellence. I inspire curiosity and always incorporate a variety of musical influences and personalised recommendations in order to create a satisfying experience in each lesson.

I love sharing what I know about music, composition, and theory, and I have taught private and group lessons across ages and abilities.
