Information about Luke
I`m Luke, a current academic junior doctor living in Oxford. With a range of interests, I`m an outgoing and active character who seeks to make teaching interactive and engaging. Lectures are for the masses; I aim to make my one-to-one sessions personalised, productive and inspiring for my students.
I believe learning is a skill, and one that can be enjoyable to learn. I hope to pass on my enthusiasm and induce curiosity in the world, not just my students topic of choice.
Graduating high in my medical school class, obtaining an Imperial College London bachelors degree and passing A-levels with straight A`s, I have keen understanding in areas of biology and math. I am an avid lacrosse player, snowboarder and pianist.

Availability: Weekday evenings. Occasional weekends.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I currently work as a junior doctor. Through competitive application I was able to secure an academic job where I research along side my clinical duties. I have been tutoring for three years and have developed a keen interest in teaching topics of biology and math. All students I have tutored had consistent personalised teaching which allowed them to achieve grade As or equivalent.
With an active interest in education, I have participated in many medical projects, such as my medical schools outreach program `MedPath` where I worked as the lesson planner for three years. Where I was tasked with designing, amending and delivering high quality educational and career oriented lessons to widening participation `WP` schools.
Furthermore I have worked consistently in peer teaching roles, teaching medical students topics within medicine and surgery,
Teaching Style:
My lessons will be of a semi-structured style, allowing for both progression through course material, but with plenty of opportunity to elaborate on certain topics if my student feels they need to. Questions will be welcomed at any point and I hope to culminate a relaxed and friendly learning environment.
I believe exam technique, and indeed conducting test questions, are paramount to achieving highly, thus practice tests will form a central theme in my lessons. It will allow me to assess weak and strong points in both knowledge and articulation.
Lastly, I hope to provide studying techniques, advice and mindsets that have helped me through the various exams, and ones soon to experience. Forming a calm mind and focused game plan is important to achieving ones potential.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best Wishes,
Luke
