Information about Oliver
I am a qualified and practising Secondary English teacher with 10 years` experience of teaching both Key Stage 3 & 4. As a senior examiner with AQA, my specialism is in preparing students for English and English Literature examinations, but have also assisted students in their Key Stage 2 "SATs" and general help for Key Stage 3.
Availability: I am available most evenings after 5pm.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I completed a BA in English and Film Studies from the University of Portsmouth. I then went on to complete my PGCE there too. Whilst teaching, I also completed a Masters in Education with an Applied Linguistics Specialism. I became an examiner for AQA English Literature in 2011 and have since become a senior examiner as a Team Leader for the new GCSEs.
I have experience in tutoring individual students from the ages of 10 through 16.

Oliver established a good connection with my son and quickly established his capabilities on the subject. He set tasks and work to be done between tutoring sessions to give my son additional practice and work to focus on. Oliver was always prompt and on the one occasion he ran late called to explain and provide a new Eta.

Both my son and I could not rate Ollie any higher .
My son (Oli) did not enjoy English at school and was not performing to his potential.
I did a lot of reading and researching to find a tutor and chose Ollie .
Not only a full time English teacher , Ollie has been totally hands on with the new cirrriculum and heavily involved in the AQA Syllabus being an AQA senior examiner .
Besides his experience and qualifications Oli was won over by Ollie imediately and gradually even gained a real interest in the subject enjoying his one to one lessons and on more than one occasion despairing after school lessons and wishing the teacher could only explain like Ollie does!
Ollie`s teaching mechanisms are second to none . His style is innovative and engaging and more to the point had oli looking forward to and engaging fully in this tuition !
We wait the results of Olis GCSES but we are quietly confident as since tuition began Oli moved up 2 grades and his teacher reckons he has the potential to do even better thanks to the one to one tuition from Ollie
