Information about Anna

(i) Tutoring experience:

Alongside my academic studies and work as a professional writer, I have worked as an English Literature and English Language tutor throughout my time as an English undergraduate, postgraduate and award winning academic scholar at Cambridge University (Trinity College).

I have had students who were struggling to pass their exams and after working with me, managed to achieve A-A* level results in GCSE, A-Level and IB. Therefore, I have experience across a range of exam boards and I am passionate about enabling my students to gain academic confidence and inspiration within the subject.

I am a friendly, responsive tutor who will tailor my lessons to suit your individual requirements and use a range of different teaching techniques to respond to your own unique learning style.

I also have particular experience coaching Oxbridge, university and scholarship applications with outstanding results. I assist with application forms, personal statements and interview practice. I also help with writing essays and building theses for the purposes of applications, coursework, dissertations, research projects, creative writing and more.

(ii) Academic credentials:

In 2018, I won the Trinity Gould Exam Prize for exam results coming 1st in my college year and 4th in my university year as a whole for English.

In 2019, I graduated with a double first in English Literature from Trinity College, Cambridge, where I received Junior and Senior scholarships and was commended in the Newnham and Gould essay competitions.

In 2020, having been awarded a full Academic Scholarship from Trinity College, Cambridge, I completed a masters degree in English Studies: Criticism and Culture at the University of Cambridge.

In 2021, I completed the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at City, University of London with a high distinction and an academic scholarship from Inner Temple.

In 2022, I will proceed onto the Bar course with Inner Temple’s Paul Methven Academic Scholarship in order to pursue a career as a barrister.

(iii) Professional writing:

As a professional writer, I wrote the libretto for Agreed, a new opera written for Glyndebourne Opera House and premiered in March 2019. It received a YAM award (2019) and was nominated for an Ivors award (2019). I recently completed my second opera libretto for [contact detail removed] to be premiered in 2022. I have written an illustrated book version of the story to be published alongside the productions. I also wrote the lyrics for Take Time, commissioned by the London Mozart Players and Croydon Music and Arts, with music by Jeff Moore.

Following completion of the Graduate Diploma in Law this year with a high distinction and a prestigious academic scholarship from Inner Temple, I am currently working full time in Education and Community Care law and am an aspiring barrister in Education and Public law.
