Hi, I`m Helen. I graduated from Durham University with a first in my Masters of Mathematical Sciences in 2016 and I`ve just begun a Mathematics PhD at Warwick University. I have been tutoring four students for their maths GCSE since January 2017. I really enjoy helping students increase their confidence with maths and finding new ways to explain tricky mathematical concepts.

I try to keep my lesson plans fairly flexible so they can be tailored to the individual student. Although in general each lesson starts by recapping the week before and going over any homework queries. Normally I will have decided on a topic to go over based upon school work, performance in past papers and subjects the student flags up. Using practice questions and past papers to learn, practice and memorize particular mathematical techniques helps them to move onto trickier questions and develop exam skills.

Availability: I`m free on weekday evenings after 6.00pm and most weekends.

Experience: I have been tutoring four students for GCSE Mathematics since January 2017.

Last year I had a job marking homework given in by second year mathematics students. After grading their homework I would provide them with feedback on how to improve.
