I`m a professional actor/writer of 30 years experience (BBC, West End etc etc. Writers` Guild award for Best Children`s Theatre). My work includes a great deal with children and young people. I recently published two books for preteens.
I love what I do, needless to say - and I absolutely love passing passion and skills on to others. I also seem to have a knack for communicating things in a way people get. I work through encouraging people, and helping them find their own strengths and ways of expression.
My leanings have always been to the academic too, not just the creative, artistic side. I`m addicted to quizzes and reading, and have an interest in many subjects.

Availability: I have good availability at the moment, but please note that for the foreseeable future I will only be offering sessions via Skype, even as lockdown restrictions start to ease. It really does work very well that way, plus means we don`t need to worry about geography, travel or where is best to meet!

Experience: I`ve worked with a number of people of all ages (from 7-year-olds to retired) on elocution. Sometimes this has been those with English as a foreign language; sometimes it has been native speakers wanting to soften their regional accent and learn more standard pronunciation. With the children it`s usually about gaining confidence in communication, and greater clarity and diction.
I`ve often conducted drama workshops, both in conjunction with shows I was in and independently - for schools, colleges, churches, charities, arts organisations and others (eg, TfL) - even for a whole village on one occasion, as part of their millennium celebrations!
I`ve done drama games and workshops for children`s birthday parties, too.
Working with Taiwanese teens here on language courses, as well as drama (for team building, confidence and communication) I also covered English language, history and culture, theatre and museum visits, and guided tours of central London.
I often work in training and exams in medical and corporate roleplay and communication skills (GMC, RCGP, Uni of Liverpool, Barclays, TfL, Kaplan, and many others).
As a tutor I`ve also worked one-to-one with several undergraduates on their dissertations, with pointers on research, choice of subject and expression of ideas - and spelling, grammar etc, where students had issues such as dyslexia. (This was from the communication angle, rather than me having a knowledge of their subjects)
