Availability: Availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have tutored several students in the past. Generally, the main difficulty for students is in understanding and applying new concepts learnt at school.
My approach is to go slowly over any new concepts, to relate new concepts to everyday activities of the student for a better understanding of the concept.
The student is also given the opportunity to ask questions and clear his doubts.
Afterwards, I will be asking questions and assisting in homeworks to ensure that the student can now understand and apply the concept.
Success in exams does not come from simply learning the content in a course by heart, but requires an understanding of that content, of how examiners want the content to be applied and of how to answer questions and communicate in such a way that it is simple for the examiner to award you high marks. I cover any-and-all of these things with my students as I believe this approach can provide students with greater clarity as they head into exams.
