Information about Elizabeth

I am a recent Classics graduate from the University of Cambridge, experienced tutoring subjects including Latin, Ancient Greek, English, science and maths.

As an arts graduate, I am very familiar with the struggles of essay writing, and will be more than happy to help with formulating and expressing ideas in subjects such as English, history, economics, drama and Classics. I’ve often found that the key to helping to improve a student’s aptitude in these tricky essay subjects is to first allow them to enjoy the topic, thereby allowing for the confidence and ability to work independently. This, coupled with my fool proof, easy-to-learn essay formula is a sure-fire way to boost marks in the humanities.

I`m also currently applying for graduate medicine courses, meaning I have spent the whole summer brushing up on A-level physics and maths, as well as first year university level biology and chemistry. Therefore, my proximity to the GCSE and A-Level/IB syllabuses means I am well equipped to tackle those finicky mark schemes and work on knowledge and exam technique.

The beauty of one-on-one tutoring, away from the mayhem of a classroom, is the ability to adapt teaching style and approach to the individual. Please do not hesitate to get in touch to chat about your own, or child’s requirements in any of the subjects listed. I look forward to hearing from you!

Experience: From the age of 16, I volunteered at school as part of the `minimus` Latin education programme, providing tuition to exceptional year 6 students who might otherwise have not had the chance to study Classics. Since school, I have taught English abroad in Nepal, and spent 18 months tutoring at a primary school in Cambridge. I also have plenty of experience helping younger family members informally with their schoolwork.

Lovely lady, but felt like her methods of teaching did not help me. I did not manage to pass the GCSE that she was tutoring me for (English) and felt like we repeated the same thing every lesson. She was also late getting to my house late every time and was slow in replying to my texts.

Lizzie helped me with my GCSE`s in Latin and English. Her help was invaluable; especially help with exam technique.
