Information about Mandy
If you need a tutor for your child then here I am! I have been teaching maths in secondary education for 30 years - and tutoring for over 20 years. My main aim is develop self confidence within my students as I often find that it is a student`s lack of self belief that holds back progress.
Availability: I am available after 4 o clock during weekdays for students and during the day for adult learners. I charge £45 an hour and teach in my own home in Pinner (via zoom at the moment obviously )
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have taught in a number of secondary schools within Surrey and the Harrow area working in mainstream and small groups. I have had an excellent success rate with students I have taught. With appropriate effort from the student I can convert a predicted level 3/4 to a level 5 and see this as my strength.
I have recently been teaching maths at university on the Nursing Degree course and particularly have success in teaching adults with low confidence in numeracy.

Mandy has been teaching my adult son for approx a year now. He has always had problems with maths as he has dyscalculia. Mandy has been very patient and broken down explanations of maths so there is a greater understanding. It has given my son more confidence in understanding maths instead of a dread. Mandy has always been very accommodating and flexible with appointments and will go through any issues the child/adult might have and build on their confidence, knowledge and understanding. I would certainly recommend Mandy as a maths tutor.

Mandy immediately put my daughter at ease and quickly boosted her maths confidence exactly as we’d hoped. My daughter finds the lessons very useful and enjoys Mandy’s clear teaching style. I’m very happy with everything and feel we made the perfect decision choosing Mandy as a tutor.
