Previous experience has involved teaching English abroad for a year in Xiamen China at Sesame Street School - a strong teaching institution derived originally from Japan. Sesame Streetís ethos is to
create a fun teaching method, for the students to have fun whilst learning.
As an English teacher I taught two levels K3 (aged 4-7) P1 (8-10)
K3 level generally consists of The alphabet gym, phonic sounds, basic writing such as numbers and letters. P1 level consists of
blends and digraphs as well as reading and writing.
As an English Teacher my role was to teach the students according to a written plan, flash cards and visual media which was provided by the school. Every class generally consisted of 50 minutes with 3-4
hours of class preparation time. The idea was to create a fun-inspiring environment for the students to interact with one another and to learn English in a expressive and professional manner.
I also took on private tutoring where I taught two students aged 6 and 11. Reading and analysing short English Novels, grammar/punctuation, essay writing, phonic sounds, and English vocabulary.
