Information about Esther
My first degree was in Engineering so I`m still very interested in helping others to achieve a STEM career. Later I retrained as a science teacher following a chemistry course and took up tutoring as well when my kids were in their exam years. It turns out I really enjoy it! I work as a supply lecturer in STEM in the Scottish Borders. I have now adapted to the impact of the pandemic by tutoring remotely online using Zoom. This also cuts down unnecessary travel so I can do my bit to cut down carbon emissions.
Availability: Evenings and weekends. I can also be available in the school holidays if a more intensive approach is required.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I have been a science teacher since 2009 and have taught KS3 general science, GCSE Physics, Chemistry and Biology and a Diploma in Environment and Land based Studies in various schools.
I have experience tutoring Core, Additional, Combined Science and Triple Science at GCSE for eight years, two of which I was employed as a science tutor by a local High School for those students who were in danger of missing their targetted grades. I have also tutored A level physics and chemistry. Now that I`m in Scotland, I have tutored National 5 Chemistry and Biology and Higher Biology. I tutor online now and can cover A Level Physics and Chemistry
DBS Check: Yes
