Information about Dave
I specialise in tutoring Physics GCSE and A level only.
I can deliver tutorials face-to face, if you live near enough my home to make this possible. Otherwise, sessions can take place online using Skype, or other video chat and voice call services. I also use Scribblar, an online collaboration tool which can be used as a shared whiteboard. Scribblar runs on any Flash compatible platform which includes most versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux.
I have been very successful in helping students maximise their potential over several decades. For example, in my final year of full-time teaching last year, I taught GCSE physics, in a state comprehensive school, to 59 pupils, 32 of whom gained an A* grade.
Availability: I recently retired from full-time teaching, so availability for tutoring is not a problem.I am available most of the time during the week from Sunday evening til Thursday evening ( but not Wed or Thurs am)
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have over 30 years of experience of teaching and tutoring physics to GCSE and A level. I have been a Head of Physics, a Curriculum Team Leader for Science, and a Director of Learning, working in a variety of schools in the UK and abroad. I worked for a few years as a tutor for the Open University, and I have many years of experience as an A level examiner with Edexcel and with AQA. I obtained my Physics degree from the University of Bristol, and a PGCE from the University of York.
