Information about Samia

Hello, I`m a Qualified Primary school teacher working as a Year 6 Teacher in Birmingham with 4 years teaching experience. I also hold a BEd (Hons) degree in Primary Education with QTS. Consequently this has given me a good understanding of the primary curriculum and of what makes teaching effective.

As a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic individual I really enjoy working with children on a daily basis and being privileged to be such a vital part of children’s lives and making a great difference.

I understand the impact one to one teaching can make to students and that this can help to clarify individual misconceptions in learning.

Availability: I am available during evenings and weekends and during seasonal holidays.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I am a qualified Primary School teacher, currently teaching in a Year 6 class in Birmingham and I attended Sutton Coldfield Grammar School as a child.

Very disappointed. Poor punctuality. After confirming everything including the address and after purchasing her contact details on first day she started to complain that it took her long to get our place etc. We requested her to come and after a couole of lessons and after paying her in advance she started giving excuses that her car has issues and she cannot continue. Asked her to refund the advance payment but I am not hearing from her now. Avoid...

Samia taught my 10 year old son English. The teaching was adequate, however, her punctuality was abysmal. We must have had atleat 16 lessons. she was only ontime twice and all other times she was late by more than 10 minutes (atleast). In hind sight we should have stopped the lessons earlier, however, we persevered in the hope that things would improve. For this reason we eventually decided to part company. It was not only wasting our time but also setting a bad example for the child.

Tutors Response :

You requested a first ‘free’ lesson which was provided and stated that you were happy to continue with the English tutoring lessons. If you thought my lessons were ‘adequate’ you shouldn’t have continued for a further 16 + lessons. Lessons were requested on a Friday at 5:30pm during peak hour times and you were made aware that traffic would prevent me reaching there on time. Lessons were discontinued by me due to your rudeness and I felt uncomfortable continuing to tutor at your house. However, I wish Mohammed all the best for the future with his education.

Tutoring was good, but she never gave much homework and was late for most of the lessons. She also increased the agreed rate because she said she was moving house.I wish you all the best Samia.
