Hello! My name is Farhana and I received my Master of Pharmacy degree (with Honours), which gives me a sound understanding of biological and chemical systems, currently working in a global role for a large pharmaceutical company.

I am an experienced and engaging tutor who enjoys working with enthusiastic students keen to learn and challenge themselves to gain a better understanding of the sciences, particularly Biology and Chemistry. I have also been successful helping students gain admission to grammar schools through providing tutoring for the 11+ entrance exam.

I aim to deliver exam-focussed tutoring without compromising the depth of understanding required to attain high grades. My style of teaching comes from my firm belief that students should truly understand the concepts as opposed ‘memorising for exams`

I have helped students gain admission to Medical, Dental and Pharmacy schools - I am happy to help with the complexities involved in the application process for the best chance of success.

I discovered my passion for teaching from an early age when tutoring my younger brothers growing up, something I enjoyed and continued! Seeing students successfully understand concepts and apply knowledge that they previously struggled with, is the most rewarding element of teaching for me.

Availability: Weekday: evenings, sometimes daytime (work rota dependent) in student holidays in the run up to exams

Weekends: flexible, early afternoon-late evening

Willing to travel: 20 miles

Experience: - Have successfully tutored students for the 11+ exams and common entrance exam (13+) to help them gain admission to grammar school

- Regularly tutored students from KS2 through to A level in the sciences. All students demonstrated great improvements and gained understandings of concepts beyond their current level.

- Have helped students to gain admission to Medical, Dental and Pharmacy schools my helping them prepare and giving advice regarding UKCAT/BMAT exams, personal statements, University requirements etc.

- Frequently volunteer to help run events for youth in my community, focussing on helping youth achieve their full potential in a variety of ways.
