Information about Harriet
I read Theology, Religion & Philosophy at Cambridge University where I went on to graduate with First-Class Honours. I am an experienced tutor, having tutored Religious Studies/Philosophy A-level for a number of years now, across all exam boards. Philosophy is a fantastic subject and I thoroughly enjoy teaching every one of my students! Over the years I have developed a teaching style and method which has helped students achieve those top grades. I typically work through the specification in chronological order, ensuring students understand the content while simultaneously developing essay-writing skills. As exam season approaches, I provide my students with practical advice on how best to revise and consolidate material and really perfect that exam technique. My experience has meant that I am able to pool from a large selection of resources, including exemplar essays, which I provide to students as we go. My teaching style is inspired by the way I was taught at Cambridge; lessons are interactive and I encourage my students to explain things back to me as much as possible. A final aspect of exam success is fully understanding what the relevant exam board is asking of students; AQA for example, is quite different to, say, OCR. Appreciating how the exam is assessed is therefore very important! I therefore always allocate some teaching time to going through the specification in depth, understanding how exactly exams are marked and considering past-paper exemplar answers. I really enjoy my job and find it incredibly rewarding seeing how much progress my students make throughout the year. Robbed me by charging me money for lessons which auto scheduled for months without cancelling, also offered to circumvent tutor hunt and charge lessons privately without including the service charge

I am sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience. Students are able to cancel lessons up to 24 hours beforehand free of charge by logging into their account; unfortunately, if students fail to cancel lessons that they do not then attend, their account will still be charged in line with Tutorhunt`s policy. Students receive both text and email reminders regarding upcoming lessons on a weekly basis. As a gesture of good will however, payment for some missed lessons is being returned. All lessons take place via Tutorhunt.

Harriet has really risen to the challenge of introducing our 9-year son to Philosophy (Primary level) this term and we are delighted with the results. He enthusiastically reports back to us with some of the ideas and scenarios that they have discussed after each online session. Harriet has been helping him to develop his critical thinking skills and debating techniques. They have begun to explore the philosophies of different religions, an area that was completely new to him, and generally got him thinking and talking about some big questions! We are so pleased with how it is going. Harriet has always been an absolute pleasure to communicate with and she shows her impeccable manor and professionalism during each video session.
