Information about Jamie
Hi I`m Jamie. I am an experienced chemistry teacher currently working in a top performing Yorkshire grammar school. I have been teaching and tutoring chemistry for over 10 years and as such I have an in depth knowledge of all major exam board specifications both through my work as a class room teacher and as an examiner for several UK and international exam boards.
Through my work reviewing and commissioning future A-level papers I have a firm understanding of current examination styles and requirements and use this knowledge to support my students with their studies.
At A-level I have a 100% pass rate.
2003 - 2008 Studied chemistry at Imperial College with major focus on organic synthesis.
2009-2010 Teacher training and MEd research at University of Cambridge.
Recent A-level grades achieved by my students:
2019 - A* 32%, A 55%
2018 - A* 28%, A 54%
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends.

Experience: I ensure that my programme of tutoring is tailor made to each of my students to maximise their performance. As I have an excellent knowledge of all exam boards specifications I coach my students to not only have a good knowledge of the subject but also the skill to answer exam questions.
All worksheets and resources are provided and weekly past paper booklets set as homework.

Jamie is very methodical working through the syllabus, clearly explaining from the basics right through to the more tasking areas of A-Level Chemistry. He has helped the steady progress through from AS to A2.

Jamie is tutoring my daughter who is taking Chemistry A level.
My daughter is extremely happy with the way Jamie teaches. He teaches in a clear and easy to understand manner, is very thorough and makes sure she understands every topic as chemistry is a very difficult subject. Jamie has helped make my daughter become much more confident in a subject she was really struggling with and is positive that with Jamie’s continued help she will achieve the A grade that she needs.
