The nature of my character and academic background have prepared me for this job. I am self-critical of myself and always striving for improvement, which is exemplified by my academic background. My progression from a disadvantaged secondary school, to a good-quality college and now at a world-class institution which the LSE is, portrays my desire to always improve myself. This is a quality which I believe I can transfer onto others help them succeed academically.
I find working with people and helping them improve a very rewarding exercise. I have currently committed a fraction to my old Politics department to help students with UCAS applications and exam prep as a volunteer. In addition I am part of the LSE Widening Participation team and deliver tutoring at the NCS in East London on one-to-one basis. I strongly believe in the power of education and my future career prospects could revolve around academia. I believe a part-time job at your company will allow me to both help myself, but more importantly help others.
I relish the examinations. Unlike other people who see them as stressful, I see them as a game which you either win or lose, depending or your level of preparation. My exam technique, so far in my academic life, has been proven to be very effective. My approach involves studying the exam and going beyond the requirements of it, thus ensuring success. This is an approach which I believe your company will benefit hugely from.
