Information about Keith
I am Assistant Head of Mathematics at Kingston Grammar School. Prior to this I taught at two other top independent schools.
I studied at University of Oxford where I read for a Masters Degree and following my first years exams was awarded Exhibition status. After completing my degree I remained at the university to carry out applied mathematics research and published articles in peer-reviewed proceedings and journals. My experience of tutoring first began alongside my research when I was invited to provide weekly tutorials for undergraduates.
I believe that for students wishing to excel, good classroom teaching and access to an expert tutor for more personalised learning can lead to excellent results.

I am aware of the many factors that can affect an individual student`s learning and always strive to build a positive and supportive working relationship. I am able to engage students with quality resources and have the experience to choose tasks which build confidence and offer progressive challenge. I have an excellent track record of improving student`s confidence, study skills and attainment.

I have taught at three top independent secondary schools with experience spanning all key stages from year seven to sixth form. I teach and prepare students for examinations in GCSE, A-Level and A-Level Further Maths.
I have excellent subject knowledge and as a result of years of interactions with classes, small groups and individuals I have developed the many skills required to deliver excellent lessons. My professional knowledge of teaching and learning in general and the secondary mathematics curriculum in particular enable me to offer advice and support in addition to the subject specific tuition I offer.
Qualified A-Level Examiner for exam boards: AQA and Edexcel (four years)
My training and experience as an examiner has given me the technical knowledge of how marks are awarded and in particular I am able to communicate examples of the exact standard required to gain marks.
