I am an experienced and well qualified teacher of Mathematics, with a B.Ed Hons degree, followed by a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics with the Open University.
Having been involved with tutoring over a number of years now, I am very much aware of the bewilderment and fear felt by students who find Mathematics difficult. Therefore, together with having children of my own, all of whom, have now completed their time at school, I am familiar with the mathematical demands on students as they move through their education.
My interests include walking, gardening and family history research, as well as being involved with my own family.
Availability: Daytime Mon-Fri and 4pm onwards.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have taught Mathematics in mainstream schools in London and Birmingham and Worcestershire. In recent years I have taught Mathematics to Visually Impaired students as well as those with Asperger`s syndrome and dyslexia/dyscalculia difficulties. Most of my teaching experience is in the 11-18 age range, with some in the Upper Primary range (Years 5 and 6). Therefore I am familiar with the demands of Mathematics throughout these age ranges, particularly GCSE (both higher and foundation) and the new `AS` level. I have also taught adults preparing for Numeracy competency tests. I have a wide range of teaching experience and specialise in helping students who struggle in Mathematics to overcome their fear, so that they can succeed. I have excellent results.Contact this Tutor
