With more than 15 years as a qualified teacher, I teach in primary schools and have 6 years experience in one to one tutoring and teaching home schooled students aged 5 to 16. As a result of this long and diverse experience I am able to support students with all areas of primary learning, particularly raising skills and knowledge in preparation for KS2 SATs and 11+ reading comprehension and writing.

In the last 6 years, my English degree and passion for literature and writing (I`m a former journalist) has enabled me to work successfully with many KS3 and GCSE students, teaching English Literature and Language. I have guided students to improve GCSE grades by up to 3 levels. I offer weekly lessons and intensive multi-lesson weeks.

Availability: Monday- Saturday mornings, most weekday afternoons and evenings. Online availability includes early starts and later evenings.

Experience: In addition to teaching all aspects of the primary curriculum, including preparation for Phonics screening and KS1 and KS2 SATs, I also tutor GCSE students in English Language and Literature (my degree specialism and passion) and the English aspects of the 11+ entrance exams. My teaching methods focus on all aspects of reading analysis of set texts and unseen extracts, enabling students to develop methods that see increases in their exam marks. I also have proven methods for raising confidence and grades in narrative and non-fiction writing.
