I am a fully qualified science teacher. I have PGCE Science specialising in Biology for the the 11-18 age group (KS3-KS5). I work in secondary school as a science teacher, teaching Biology GCSE and A level, and Physics and Chemistry GCSE. I have offered all 3 subjects for private tuition previously, but now offer Biology GCSE and A level only for private tuition as this is my specialist subject and the subject I am passionate about.

Availability: Monday 7-8pm and Thursday 7-8pm.

Experience: I have been working as a professional tutor part time for the last 12 years and have taught over 5000 hours private tuition, including around 2000 hours online. I have tutored students in years 7 to 13 in person and online and I have taught using specifications for AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards. I currently have spaces for online students only, for Biology GCSE or A level, following specifications for AQA, OCR and Edexcel .
I teach new material or recap areas that students are struggling with, using techniques to help with memory retention and exams. I use resources such as PowerPoint presentations, videos and animations.
I provide exam practice using a bank of past papers, giving advice specific to exams such as commonly asked questions and how to phrase a question to gain full marks. Also, analysing questions to understand precisely what is being asked, an essential skill for exam success.
I provide regular feedback and advise what to work on outside the tutoring sessions including revision strategies and homework.
I use an online platform where resources and past papers can be seen by both parties.
I send resources by email prior to the tuition session.
