I have a BSc in Biology, a MSc in Zoology and a PhD in Genetics/Molecular Biology. I am 45 years old and have more than 20 years of experience teaching Biological Sciences. Although I have experience teaching a variety of subjects, including biology, chemistry, maths and physics, at the moment I am concentrating on AQA A-level biology syllabus and exam techniques both for college students and for private candidates.

I also work with university-level students (undergrad and postgrad)for exam preparation, report writing and literature reviews, as well as mature students that require help in biological sciences subjects such as human anatomy and physiology, genetics/molecular biology, and vertebrate zoology.

I am Clombian, so my native language is Spanish, but I do speak fluently English and Portuguese (a bit of french and Italian too).

Availability: I’m available most mornings and early afternoons (up to 4 pm). Please contact me for specific times. I do not usually teach after school hours but sometimes can take students up until 4pm. Please contact me and I will do my best to arrange a time slot that suit us both. During the summer holidays I can offer lessons in two-hour slots, preferably in the morning.


I also offer weekly 2 hour group lessons for 2 to 3 students. This lessons are £140 (plus travel expenses of £5 to £10), and the students can decide, at their convenience, in which home or arranged location we will be having the lesson each week.

Since I am located in the North of Manchester, I prefer to work with students in the North Great Manchester area (Prestwich, Bury, Middleton, Blackley, Alkrington, Ashton under Lyne, Chadderton, New Moston, and any areas close to M60 junctions 17 to 21) so I can spend less time traveling and more time teaching!

Experience: I have more than 20 years experience teaching biological sciences, with experience in 1:1 teaching both for kids and adults, as well as in classroom settings at primary, secondary and university levels. I have been tutoring A-level students in greater Manchester for the past 4 years, and I`m pleased to say that all my regular pupils (this is, the ones who took weekly or fortnightly lessons with me for more than 6 months), achieved their required grades.
