I am a warm encouraging teacher with a wide range of strategies to ensure that pupils learn well. I have a professional teaching room with a sofa for parents should they wish to stay. Due to demand I do not travel.

30 years tutoring experience with 100% A-C grades achieved. Tutoring for Common Entrance as well as all sciences at GCSE. Currently work in East Midlands as specialist "Grade raiser" for Science. I have been a Head of Music in three schools and Head of Biology in one. Last year I taught full time the new AQA syllabus and helped writing course materials for this. I also taught OCR and AQA A level and AS level. Pupils gained outstanding results with 5 of my Biology pupils gaining Oxbridge places for medicine. My weaker GCSE pupils who I worked with also managed to pass with C grade and above.
I am retired apart from specialist "Science grade raiser days" which I do in schools throughout the East Midlands and examining for two GCSE exam boards. I also still work on science supply at a top Private school and part time at a comprehensive with pupils who are not meeting the 4/5 grade boundary for GCSE. I enjoy working with pupils of all abilities.

If your child is year 10 then I certainly will have a permanent slot for them after my year 11s leave. You could also book intensive courses over the summer.

Experience: 30 years private tutoring experience with 100% success rate. I have taught both in the private and state sector. In a private prep school preparing pupils for common entrance in Maths and Science. In Private school teaching up to A level Biology. I have been a Head of Biology and Head of Music in three schools. In State school teaching GCSE sciences and Music and both Biology and Music to A level. I have taught Music privately for 35 years but no longer wish to have the commitment of instrumental lessons. I now teach theory for AB exams and GCSE and A level composition. My pupils for A level have gone on to top Universities as well as many for Medicine and Dentistry. In Music I teach composition with pupils all having gained A grades for this aspect both at GCSE and A level. I also teach theory with 100% pass rate. Experience of AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge Boards.
