Information about Brian
Hi there! My name is Brian, I`m a medical student and have just finished my Bachelor`s degree in Medicine at the University of Cambridge achieving a strong 2.1 overall.
Before university, I attended Dulwich College with an academic scholarship, where I achieved 11A* at GCSE and A*A*A at A2 (in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics). I teach Biology, Chemistry, Maths and medical admissions tests (BMAT and UKCAT) in particular but I am available to advise on medical school choices and interviews, personal statements and Oxbridge applications.
Availability: During the holiday periods especially I am flexible with times so please, if you have any further enquiries, or are keen to book lessons, don`t hesitate to drop me a message!
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: My previous teaching experience includes tutoring science and maths to a GCSE student as part of a mentoring scheme at my school, as well as assisting another student in gaining a place at Cambridge for medicine. I have also tutored students in both A level and GCSE Science and Maths recently.
I believe strongly that good practice and proper exam technique is invaluable, so I place particular emphasis on working through exam board specifications and previous questions. Equally, I am also aware that every student is different with varying strengths and weaknesses, and so in my lessons I aim to identify weaker areas, clarify misconceptions and, together with the students, come up with the best ways to bolster their grade. One of my key strengths is that I have been through the process relatively recently, meaning I have fresh experience in both secondary school examinations and the medical admissions process.
