Information about Jonathan
I am a committed and reliable tutor with three years of teaching and tutoring experience alongside my studies as a medical student in London. I have taught students aged 9 to 18 with a high rate of success. I have excellent communication skills, garnered through years of working with students of different ages and different nationalities, as well as through my leisurely pursuits in standup and sketch comedy. To relax, I play guitar and sing with my medical school choir, with which I toured around Hungary this summer. I am also a keen reader of philosophy, political science and anthropology.
The subjects and levels that I teach are as follows:
UKCAT and BMAT Preparation for Medical School Entry
Maths and Science up to GCSE
Biology and Chemistry up to A2
Beginner and Intermediate Guitar
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: During the summers of 2011 and 2012, I worked as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language. This required me to prepare young students from Spain and Italy with only a basic foundation in English for Trinity College oral examinations. I have furthermore been tutoring students across London since 2011, in Maths (up to GCSE), Biology and Chemistry (up to A Level), and Guitar.
As part of a voluntary programme run by my medical school, I have also spent the last year teaching anatomy to more junior medical students, through dissection of cadavers. I have also designed and delivered a course offering an `Introduction to Global Health`, for university students to take on an informal basis.
