My B.A. Honours Degree in English Literature has allowed me to gather a detailed knowledge of literature from an extensive range of periods. I have not only learned how to use an extensive range of research sources, but use them effectively. This has allowed me to hone my research skills, which in turn has led to me producing more accurate and effective writing. I believe these skills will be an invaluable asset within an educational role, to encourage and enable students to reach their full potential. I am a committed and enthusiastic person with a high level of interpersonal and organisation skills. I believe, I have the necessary skills and knowledge to be an effective role model to learners. I have a very positive “can do” attitude and I always give 100% to my work, to ensure successful outcomes. This was reflected in the outstanding feedback I received from staff following my work in Plains Farm Primary School. I also intend to continue my personal development following the completion of my degree by studying further for a Masters Degree in English Literature and work towards the completion of a teaching qualification.

Experience: In July 2013 I successfully completed my BA Honours degree in English Literature in which I achieved a 2:1 classification. My BA Honours Degree in English Literature has allowed me to gather detailed knowledge of literature from an extensive range of periods ranging from the classic Elizabethan tragedies of Christopher Marlowe to the modern horror novels of Richard Matheson and Stephen King. Through closely examining how literature and film reflects the feelings and opinions of those from historical periods, I have been able to engage with modern writers who present insights into modern day issues. This combination of research, into older and modern texts, has allowed me to form my own views and understandings on both historical and modern day issues. The covering of a wide range of periods and genres has also provided me with the tools for engaging with literature in precise detail. I know not only how to use an extensive range research sources but use them effectively. This has allowed me to hone my research skills, which in turn has led to me producing more accurate and effective writing of my own. Therefore I intend to use all of my skills and knowledge to maximise students learning potential.Contact this Tutor
