Information about Stephanie

I`ve been a Secondary Maths teacher for 11 years and have taught and supported 1 to 1 a large number of KS3, GCSE and A Level students in Newcastle and in Greater Manchester. My greatest strength as a teacher is being able to adapt work for each students personal needs. Confidence is key to learning so I make sure I emphasise all connections between topics and build not only on a students understanding but their confidence in applying their subject knowledge to challenging exam questions. I help students with a range of techniques to help with exam stress and retention alongside my teaching which has lead to excellent results from all levels of maths.
What makes my teaching different is that I’ve been focusing on wellbeing these last 3 years learning great techniques to destress for study and retention.
Within the next few months I will be starting an educational charity and offering free half hours in maths, studying and personal wellbeing to get read for exams. Look out for a website or on social media as I’ll use the name Missy .
This is because I’ve been known as Miss since 2008, so please get in touch if you need help preparing for summer 2021 exams and class assessments.
Once the charity is fundraising and established it will work with agencies such as tutor hunt to help make good quality education available for all.
In our time together we can go over past exam questions and learn how to use the internet for self study and resources. Get confident with the course material for each Grade up to 4 and Beyond until you understand the language and key techniques and formula needed for each question and topic.
Please send me a message if you want to discuss a timetable and personalised learning plan of topics from a recent mock exam.

Thanks Stephanie.

Availability: Currently Unavailable until February/March 2021 for Bridging the Gap between attainment at GCSE and AS Level Maths. Help you get prepared for sixth form with predicted/teacher assessment grade and disrupted learning with lockdowns.
Once Available We will work together in the first session to create a revision timetable to connect knowledge and build confidence answering difficult exam style questions. By understanding the language of higher GCSE Maths and the mark schemes, along with all the different ways the same question can be written and how each topics interlink.
Booster sessions include Grade 6 - 9 recapping and clarifying knowledge that becomes the foundation knowledge of A Level Maths. Please understand the New Specification A Level has very complex language and a large amount of knowledge to memorise so those highly skilled at GCSE algebra have an advantage. Also a number of Grade 8/9 topics use to be Core 1 in AS so these need to be well understood prior to your first class at A level to feel an advantage. I can give you a timetable of learning to compliment your teachers and help you assess the vast amount of resources to visit online if you get stuck.

Experience: I have 11 years secondary maths teaching experience with responsibility in higher learners. I`ve taught across KS3, KS4 and KS5 maths and I mark for Edexcel GCSE new specification. We will discover how to get organise and understand exam technique.

Steph has been teaching my daughter A level maths for a few months now. She is very reliable and friendly and gets on well with my daughter. My daughter says she has really helped her with some of the areas she was struggling a bit with and is feeling a lot more confident as a result of Steph`s tuition.

Tutors Response :

Thanks for such lovely feedback. I’m really enjoying the tutoring sessions too. It’s making me question some parts of the syllabus in more depth to help answer why certain formulas are used the way they are.

Thanks
