I am a friendly, patient and hard-working person. I am a keen reader my expertise is varied from Shakespeare to The Hunger Games (the topic of my dissertation).
I take a structured approach to tutoring, setting out from the beginning what I expect from my student and what my student can expect from me. Together with the student, I identify what they hope to gain from my tutoring and we set out a clear plan on how we can achieve that. My hope, is that by collaborating with the student, they can learn the skills needed to independently succeed. My aim is to make each lesson engaging and fun, because I believe that students learn best in that type of environment.
I have a Upper Second Class with Honours BSc in English and Psychology from the University of Exeter. I achieved A* (Psychology), A (English) and B (History) at A-Level, and 7 A* and 3 A GSCE at Gumley House in Isleworth, Middlesex.
I can offer assistance in English and Psychology up to and including A-Level.
Availability: I am available throughout the week and on weekends.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: My previous tutoring has tended to focus on English Literature. With the older students I focused on techniques to help them analyse novels and poetry. The younger students` lessons focused on broader skills, such as grammar and spelling. The students all continued to achieve their `goal grade`. I have also tutored adults, assisting with improving their English and general interview skills. Contact this Tutor
