Hi, Im Sam.
Im a third year medical student on the graduate entry course at Barts and the London School of Medicine. I tutor in medical school application and interview preparation, 1st and 2nd year medicine (undergraduate) and GCSE Maths.
Before starting this course, I did an undergraduate degree in Physiology and Global Health Masters at Oxford university. Having applied to three separate degrees, I am very familiar with the high work load and level of preparation a successful application requires, and this is no more true than for a medical school application. From my own personal experience and through tutoring others, I cannot stress enough the extent to which applicants can improve their chances at interview through thorough preparation.
I find tutoring really rewarding, and especially enjoy preparing students for medical school application and interview, as it is helping them pursue a great career potentially for the rest of their lives! I also tutor GCSE Maths.

Last summer I delivered a two-day intensive course to 8 students which covered the full medical school application process. This was for a organization called Applican. Students were applying for both undergraduate and graduate-entry courses, as well as Oxbridge.
For the past two summers I have worked as a tutor in medicine and medical school applications for the Oxford Institute. This summer school is geared towards giving prospective students a taste of life at university, with a focus on Oxbridge style tutorials, and supporting their application.
During my undergraduate degree I tutored four students in GCSE mathematics.
I worked for an NGO in Guatemala for 3 months, teaching health and nutrition lessons to classes of children aged 8-15.
In weekly tutorials throughout my four years studying at Oxford University I picked up excellent skills in 1-1 tutoring and teaching difficult concepts in an easy to digest way.
Having taught students with a range of abilities and backgrounds, I completely understand the need to be a flexible, using different methods of teaching whilst always trying to challenge the pupil. Its important for students to enjoy what they are learning, so I always try and keep tutorials fun and light hearted. When preparing for interviews, there is nothing better than applying what you have learnt by answering questions and getting feedback to improve, so I won`t just talk at you for an hour!
