PROFILE:I have played badminton since age four. As a teenager I played county level in Malaysia ( 1970’s ) and later in teams at University level and first division league in Nottingham
( 1980’s ). I currently play in division one in the Huddersfield League for Holmfirth Badminton Club. My passion for the game has always been at a high level.

OBJECTIVES:I love developing players and guiding them in the right direction for improving their game at their level. The advice I give is always " text- book " as I consider it a good foundation to build their game on. As a coach, I would develop this further in a relaxed environment but in keeping with the current methods and correct equipment. My fulfilment would be to see the players I help ( of all ages and ability ) improve their game and achieve their goals. I also work in tandem with Badminton England with their Regional Officer and also Kirklees Active Leisure in projects / incentives they plan for the West Yorkshire area.

Availability: Available at short notice if in West Yorkshire area.Three days notice if further.

Experience: APPLETON ACADEMY, WYKE
I currently coach badminton Yr7,Yrs9 and Yr13 BTech course every Monday afternoon for 3 hours.

SPEN VALLEY SPORTS COLLEGE
I currently develop Change4Life badminton programme for Yr8 and Yr9.

HOLMFIRTH BADMINTON CLUB JUNIORS
I coach the juniors at my club for 1hr on Monday evenings.Ages:6-15yrs
Nos:Average 12 per session.

HUDDERSFIELD EAGLES & JUNIOR BADMINTON CLUB
I assist two other level 2 coaches three hours on Sundays from time to time at Newsome High School, Huddersfield.Ages:7-16yrs Nos:Average 16 per session.

CURRENT PROJECTS WITH BADMINTON ENGLAND (BE) AND KIRKLEES ACTIVE LEISURE (KAL)
I currently liaise with BE and KAL to prepare a sustainable junior badminton programme in the Kirklees area. This would include a centralized venue for coaching with a view to promote junior tournaments ( with local sponsorship ). I also keep in regular contact with BE and KAL to promote whatever projects they may have.

OTHER APPOINTMENTS
Coach for “No-Strings Badminton “ franchise ( BE incentive) at Huddersfield and Dewsbury Sports Centres, W. Yorks on Wednesday and Sunday evenings.

Qualifications: 27/07/2010 Certificate for Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH).
15/06/2011 Certificate UKCC Level 2 qualification to coach badminton
