I have been working for the last 12 months within a maths 1:1 provision at Blacon High School.

During this time as well as delivering Maths on a 1:1 level i have also lead a Year 11 set preparing for their GCSE exams and a Year 10 set preparing to begin their GCSE exams.

The majority of my time was spent delivering targetted 1:1 to pupils who had either failed to gain a grade C or were at risk of not achieving one.

Of the 10 year 10 pupils that had 12 one hour sessions leading up to their resits with me as their tutor 100% of them achieved a grade C (they had all achieved a grade D or lower previously). 70% of this group achieved 90% or above on their resit.

I have a friendly manner and like pupils to enjoy their sessions as much as possible. I try to make the sessions as interesting and competetive as possible as i have found that this improves confidence within weaker subject areas.

I am entering teacher training next year (for PE) and am also available for PE / Sports Science Tutoring.

Availability: I am available for tutoring in the Chester area until the 22/08/2011 from which time i will be available in the Edinburgh area.
