I specialise in individual programmes for primary school age children who appear to struggle in Maths and Literacy.
My tutoring commitment to a child also involves providing support for any concerned parent(s)and I spend some time outside the teaching time talking to parents in confidence and passing on materials for them to use at home.
My teaching base is home situated approx 3 mins from Cheltenham railway station.
My approach is gentle and encouraging.
During the time that I was in post my last school had 4 successful OFSTED inspections.
Each child is different so please phone to discuss needs and anxieties. Sometimes half an hour tuition at a time is more suitable so I am flexible on length of lesson.

Availability: Variety of times to fit around existing pupils weekdays and weekends

Experience: 25 years as a class teacher and Special Educational Needs coordinator and teacher.
Private tutoring for over a year. I have spent many years supporting anxious parents within and outside the school system.
I have also tutored children who have been unable to attend school.

Qualifications: B.A.hons Social Science
Post Graduate Certificate in Education
I have attended numerous courses on Dyslexia, Autism, Boys Literacy, Self Esteem, School phobia, specific programmes address certain difficulties and updates on Numeracy and Literacy. I have also been on counselling courses.

My reception age son has been receiving tuition from Liz for just a couple of months now. He was struggling to get to grips with phonics and I found the classroom situation at school moved on too rapidly for his ability.

Since he started his literacy has come on in leaps and bounds as has his enjoyment of learning and confidence in his own ability. Liz has a great rapport with him and he looks forward to their sessions.

I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend Liz to anyone in a similar situation.
