Information about Stuart

Hello `Planet Earthers`... hope you`re all calm, safe, well and busy writing blogs, diaries, articles and speeches in these unprecedented times...

So... what kind of tutor am I?

I`m creative, motivated, inspirational and enthusiastic...

I have a passion for poetry and adore Shakespeare; I`m keen on American novels, crime thrillers, modern short fiction and tomes that focus on the relationship between societies, cultures, values and politics too.

I am a published author, writer, Warwick University lecturer and highly experienced personal tutor with an English Honours degree, currently tutoring a range of students in the Coventry, Warwickshire and West Midlands areas on a part-time (evening) basis.

I tutor GCSE and A level students (mainly AQA and Edexcel exam boards, so Anthologies/Shakespeare majors, coursework guidance, gothic genre, dystopian and utopian fiction, Victorian novels, political and feminist literature, etc)

Sessions are primarily weekly - from an hour to two hours.

I have experience in tutoring primary, secondary and university students in English Language and Literature, Basic Skills and Communication Skills, as well as students preparing for entrance exams. I am familiar with current examination boards and curricula.

Additionally, I am a published author, contributing articles to a range of national and international media.

My style is engaging and enthusiastic, I am a local lecturer in the area and have been tutoring students on a part-time basis for five years.

I live close to Meriden, in the heart of the country close to the A45, M6 junction 4, M42 (NEC exit), so can travel `within reason`.

Recently I have had a number of 2019 examination successes, including five students achieving A-star grades at GCSE and 2 students achieving university places.

Two students have also achieved places at local private schools, following successful entrance examination successes.

Importantly, in line with Covid-19 best practice, I now tutor online (from April 3rd, 2020).

I am happy to offer trial lessons and discounts for regular bookings.

Availability: I am now available online during the day and in evenings.

In my current calendar, I have availability on:

Tuesday, Thursday and late Saturdays.

Willing to travel: 30 miles

Experience: I have successfully tutored a large number of GCSE and A level students in Language and Literature.

Recent successes include:

A GCSE student in Hampton who achieved 2 level 9`s
3 A level students who achieved grade A`s
A GCSE student in Nuneaton predicted E and U, achieving B and B
An AS student who achieved an A in a resit, previously obtaining a D

References to all of the above can be supplied, as they are all local students achieving results in August 2017, 2018 and 2019.
