The reason I want to teach is because teaching is the only career that I can see myself doing since it fits my personality perfectly. My biggest strength is the ability to handle pressure, I thrive under pressure. I know teaching can be a challenging job and I know that I would be able to easily overcome any obstacles with challenging students. I have excellent communication skills, being able to build a rapport with anyone, regardless of age or position, and I have patience and a good sense of humour. Along with these attributes, I believe that I also have good team leading skills, having successfully lead a telesales team for two years at the age of 18. I was also women’s Representative for my university. My duties involved running campaigns, meeting other representatives and organizing events. It was my duty to address several issues brought to me by students of all years, take up issues with higher authority and advertise and promote certain issues arising in campaigns. This responsibility has allowed me to practice many key skills, such as my leadership ability, teamwork, working under pressure to meet deadlines, addressing a large amount of people and finding ways to communicate with thousands of students to get feedback and to bring their ideas forward.
I enjoy keeping myself busy in several activities. I have also carried out voluntary work at a Dollis Hill primary school, where once a week I was helping children in years 5-6 with their reading skills during my 1st year of A levels.
Another reason I would love to go into teaching is because I am very passionate about Biology, I thoroughly enjoyed learning every aspect of it during A level and University, and I cannot imagine pursuing a career that does not involve me enthusiastically teaching the subject to keen students. I have extensive knowledge on the subject and I have the ability to explain it at a level suitable for your students. I am also a very creative person, and can use my creativity and my initiative to motivate the students. Teaching sounds like a fantastic job to be in, to never know what is coming next, and to work with minds that are so energetic and creative, I could not see myself in any other career.
