My name is Sharon. I am a fully qualified teacher and have 18 years of experience. I am a specialist in English as an academic subject and am also a specialist in teaching English as a foreign language.

I live in Bournemouth and provide one to one teaching sessions and small group sessions. I am happy to travel to your home or you are welcome to come to my home.

I can help your child to improve their communication, reading and writing if English is not their first language, and also provide help with homework and revision techniques.

If English is your child`s first language but he or she struggles with reading and writing due to dyslexia or any other learning need, I can tutor your child in improving their reading and writing skills, and endeavour to make it a positive and confidence builing experience for your child.

I can also help with general revison techniques and provide coaching for exam nerves.

Availability: I am available weekday evenings, every Friday (9am to 5pm) and weekends.

Experience: I worked as a primary school teacher for ten years in and around London, and have a great deal of experience in teaching the skills invovled in learning to read and write.

During this time I studied and specialised in teaching English as a foreign language, and worked for a Language Support Service in London as an advisor, training and supporting teachers in helping pupils for whom English is an additional language succeed at school.

I then went on to teach adults in a college setting, specialising in English as a foreign language at all levels from basic to advanced. I also trained as a coach and am qualified to provide coaching to individuals alongside teaching.

I now work in adult education and provide one to one support for students who struggle with reading and writing, providing support, guidance and advice in reading, writing, spelling techniques, as well as time management, revision and exam techniques and much more.
