Hello! I hope you`re well. I graduated from the University of Oxford in Psychology and completed a module on Education & Psychology in my final year. This module outlined the differences between males and females, the possible differences in our inherent abilities and those pressures we, as students, face from society. Considering everything I have learnt, I feel I am in a unique position to research effectively, tailor classes to my students and support them with their learning, whatever their specific needs may be.

Whilst tutoring avidly since my graduation in 2011, I have improved exam grades in A level retake students by at least one grade and have witnessed significant developments in my other tutees, including those who are preparing for their 11+ exams. I adopt a friendly and patient attitude to my teaching and understand that each student has their personal learning requirements. WIth this in mind, I seek not only to prepare my students for their exams but also to equip them with the skills to independently perform to the best of their abilities in non exam settings.

After each lesson I debrief my students and their parents, keeping them up to date with what we have covered, how the student has performed and what should be considered for our next lesson. I find that all of my tutees are comfortable within our first session and our goals for their future success are clearly drawn out. It is this end sight that I strive to achieve alongside my students and I very much gain satisfaction from seeing them grow into confident individuals, possessing the skills they need for their future.

Experience: I have run my own successful study skills company in Education, teaching students from Year 7 to A level around the country.

Whilst completing my degree at Oxford I was part of an E-Mentoring scheme. This involved leading tutorials for Oxford applicants, conducting mock interviews and providing them with support and guidance with their applications and preparation for University.

At School I was part of the ‘Reading Mentors’ team. I regularly paired up with children from the younger years who had difficulty with reading or were performing less well than their peers. The main objective of the group was to read with the students on a weekly basis in order to boost their confidence and ultimately improve their written and verbal English abilities.
