I am a fourth year medical student having already completed a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree with Honours. I can offer excellent personal tutoring in Biology and Chemistry upto GSCE level.

Maybe you're struggling to get your head round what all those equations mean in chemistry ... perhaps you never did quite get what the teacher was on about in that biology lesson about the heart ... or maybe you're just lacking a bit of confidence and need some help finding the right learning methods for you. Whatever your needs, I will do my very best to help you get to your goal and fulfill your potential!

Availability: Since I am a university student I am flexible and can offer tutoring at a time to suit you.

Experience: My background of medical training has equipped me with excellent organisation and communication skills, and has taught me how to learn effectively. I believe learning is all about making connections which is why I try to use as many different learning methods as possible. Furthermore, if you want to learn something properly and keep it in your head, memorising is just not good enough. You need to UNDERSTAND the concept if you're going to remember it, which is why I explain the concept to the student first and then get them to explain it back to me in their own words ... this ensures full comprehension of the subject. Lastly, in order to use the lesson time efficiently I will organise a lesson timetable on the phone with the student a couple of days before the lesson, so that I can come to the lesson prepared and both the student and myself know what we need to get through ... this helps the student become aware of their own progress and encourages them to work on their weaknesses and celebrate their strengths.

Overall I aim to make my lessons fun and interesting and hopefully I can pass on my enthusiasm for these subjects to my students.

Qualifications: BMedSci Honours degree
