Information about Sarah
Im 23 years old and recent graduate of the University of Warwick. I studied French and International Relations. I love learning and sharing my knowledge with others, so tutoring is the perfect opportunity to do so. My passions are mainly to do with music and writing and I enjoy travelling.
My desire is to do all that I can to help students improve in areas where necessary and develop or maintain enthusiasm for a subject, even though they may be having difficulty with it. Depending on the age of the students, I use a reward system for encouragement and a sense of achievement. I have no set curriculum but will shape my lesson plans around the needs of the student. I am flexible in my style of teaching - activities, games, discussion, exercises etc. I want my students to get the most out of our sessions and so I will always take their learning style, strengths and weaknesses into consideration. Asking for feedback regularly is important and ensures that the student and I are always working together to make the tuition as successful as possible.

Experience: Between 2012 and 2013, I spent 7 months living and working in Lille, the 4th largest city in France. I worked as an English Teaching Assistant in two different schools and my students were aged between 11 and 15. This was an amazing experience and quite daunting at first as I had to take groups of up to 15 students for lessons on my own after just two weeks of observing lessons with their teachers.
For the past 5 years (on and off during university), I have been teaching the Sunday School 4-7 and 7-11 groups at my local church. This involves arts&crafts, games, singing, worksheets and traditional-style teaching.
I started giving private tuition in May 2013 and taught English and French to 3 students (aged 5, 9 and 14) over 4 months.
Over the last year, I have worked with an English GCSE student.
I currently work at a primary school, in the after school club, and will be moving onto a teaching assistant role in September.

Excellent manner and interpersonal skills, identifies best approach for your child and makes the session very interactive and relevant. Plans very well in advance. I can see my sons confidence increasing already. The 1-on-1 so far has been helpful. Would recommend without a doubt.
