I am a first-year PhD student in History at the University of York. Prior to beginning my PhD, I completed a Masters degree in Modern History, also at the University of York, and a BA at the University of Cumbria in Lancaster. I am interested in all aspects of history as well as using interdisciplinary methods to gain a greater understanding of historical subjects. I would be more than happy to help students up to undergraduate level and am willing to travel if expenses are paid. Experience: While completing my PhD, I will also be teaching first-year undergraduate students on a twice-weekly basis, a role for which full training is provided by the university. I am also confident in relating to students from a range of backgrounds and of various ages. Before deciding to focus on an academic career in History, I successfully completed 2 years of a QTS degree at primary level, and have experience of teaching across the primary age range. I also have less formal experience of working with children aged 8-15 on City Council sponsored playschemes and have worked with the general public in a variety of other roles. Qualifications: 12 GCSEs, Grades A*-B, including A* History.
1 AS-level,Grade A, in English Language & Literature.
4 A-levels, all Grade A, in History, Government & Politics, Psychology & General Studies.
BA Hons (First Class) in History.
