I`m a friendly, approachable and down to earth fully qualified science teacher and Oxford graduate in Biology, passionate about science and about teaching. I can tutor students in Biology, Chemistry and Physics both at KS3 and KS4, and Biology A- level.


I taught science for two years in a state secondary school until July 2011, when I then spent several months living near the French- Swiss border and travelling in America. I am now a Teaching Assistant at a special school, working with children aged 11-16 with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and ADHD, which I hope will develop my experience in working with children with Special Educational Needs.

Experience: I graduated from St. John`s College, Oxford University in 2009 with a 2:1 degree in Biological Sciences (68%), where in my final year I focused on Animal Biology, Environmental Biology and Quantitative Methods.

I then completed the highly competitive Teach First scheme, teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE for two years in a West Midlands comprehensive. There, I gained my PGCE in secondary science education and Qualified Teacher Status (graded `outstanding`), and by the end of my second year of teaching my lessons were regularly rated as `good with elements of outstanding` or `outstanding` according to OFSTED criteria. I am currently studying towards an MA in Educational Leadership.

My lessons are creative yet thorough and I have high expectations of my pupils and what they can achieve. I find it essential that my pupils have a thorough knowledge of the exams they are going to take (at GCSE and A- level) if they are to succeed and my lessons are always planned to ensure complete and in- depth coverage of the syllabus.

Qualifications: In addition to my 2:1 BA Biological Sciences (Oxon), I have A grades in AS- level Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Geography and General Studies and A grades in A2- level Biology, Maths, Geography and General Studies. At GCSE I have 9 A star grades and 2 A grades inc. English, Maths, Science and French.
