In June 2010 I graduated from the University of Hull with a 1st Class BA (Hons) degree in History. From September 2010 to September 2011 I studied Medieval Studies (MA) at Royal Hollway, University of London a course which was jointly run by the English and History departments. I recently discovered that I achieved a Distinction in this course, and am due to graduate in July 2012.

Aside from Higher Education I have 10 GCSE`s A-C (including English Language, English Literature, Latin, History, Science and Maths). I obtained 4 A Levels in English Language, History, Psychology and General Studies as well as an AS Level in Law.

My loves are History and English and I also studied Latin as part of my MA course and achieved my highest mark (a 78% in my 3 hour latin exam). My dissertation was also based on a 20 page medieval latin test which I had to translate and analyse from scratch.

I love to read, particularly historical non-fiction in my spare time. Therefore, although my studies have steered me towards Medieval and Early Modern History, I am also interested and my knowledge on other periods is vast.

Availability: Evenings and weekends

Experience: I have a fair amount of teaching and tutoring experience. Aside from helping in schools when an A Level student, I have also worked as a teaching assistant during my time at University as well as solely conducting a number of lessons. From this particular experience I have a letter of recommendation from the Head of Humanities department, which I would be happy to provide on request.

Tutoring Approach: I absolutely love learning and studying (both leisurely and academically) and I believe this comes across in my teaching/turoring. I am an enthusiastic person who genuinely wants to help people achieve their potential in their desired field.

Obviously, it is not a case of `one size fits all`. I have worked in both a successful school and one in special measures from the top set to those in the Learning Advancement Programme. Indeed, I can adapt my teaching style as is required.

On the whole, my aim would be not only to teach, but to inspire my tutees and instill a sense of confidence in their own abilities.
