I completed a degree in French and German at Staffordshire University in 2003, achieving a 2:i final grade, including a First for my dissertation, which I wrote in German.

I spent five months in both Germany and France, studying at universities at Potsdam and Pau respectively. At both universities, I completed courses in translation, comprehension, grammar and spelling.

Tutoring Approach:
I start by assessing the tutee's level / ability and tailor the lessons accordingly. I usually work from the students' own text books, however, I prepare my own exercises to improve the tutees' grammar, comprehension and vocabulary. I like to encourage the students and build their confidence (which I often find is very low with language students).

Unfortunately, due to rising fuel costs, I regret that I will have to charge for travel; 5 pounds for students, who live up to 10 miles away and 10 pounds for those who are over 10 miles from my home.

Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends

Experience: I have been tutoring for more than four years and have achieved some impressive results. One of my first tutees was projected to achieve a 'D' at GCSE when I started the lessons; her final grade was a 'B'. And one of my current students received a 'C' for her GCSE mock oral, but was awarded an 'A' for her GCSE oral proper.
