Information about Olivia

I graduated from Haberdashers` Aske`s School for Girls earlier this year and am currently taking a gap year between school and university. I intend to attend the University of Bristol to read English Literature this September. I have always enjoyed teaching and feel confident that I can use my own academic success and passion for learning to provide good quality tuition to others. I am happy to teach up to English Literature & Language up from KS1 to A2 level, History from KS1 to A2 level, Economics at A2 Level, Government & Politics at AS Level and Maths at KS1 level. I am also willing to aid those sitting entrance exams for school, such as 11+.

Availability: I have a flexible schedule and am able to work throughout the weekend and during the week as well.

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I have worked extensively at several primary schools, including Roe Green Infants` School, Gower House Primary School and Preston Manor. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with children of differing abilities who came from a range of backgrounds and I also helped teachers to organise activities and work tasks. I am also currently working at a `Homework Club` at Eversfield Gardens where I help children after-school with any work they may have difficulties with.

When I was at school, I ran an English Society for years 10 and upwards and I arranged discussions of texts (ranging from Sylvia Plath`s `Ariel` to William Blake`s `Tiger, Tiger`) for students interested in pursuing literature outside of the classroom. I always organised a monthly book club (featuring works such as Jack Kerouac`s `On the Road`) to widen the members` reading tastes. Whilst at school, I was also elected (by students and teachers) to be a Prefect. Part of my duties included looking after a younger form of Year 11s who could come to me with their problems - both social and academic. In this way, I was able to offer academic help to girls doing their final year of GCSEs.

Qualifications: I hold a certificate for enhanced CRB obtained on 10/10/11.
